Panyu is located in the geographic center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, nestled by the Shizi Ocean and facing the Lingding Ocean. The area boasts a convergence of fresh and saltwater, abundant tidal currents, and a thriving fishing industry. It has long been known as the "Millennium Sea Gate" and the "Land of Fish and Rice" of the Pearl River. Due to its advantageous geographical location and rich fishing resources, fishing has always been a traditional pillar industry in Panyu. However, with the changing times, the aging port facilities and pollution of the surrounding environment have posed numerous challenges to the development of Panyu's fishing ports. With the construction of the national-level fishing port economic zone, Panyu's fishing industry has transformed from a traditional fishing-based economy to a modern marine economy, bidding farewell to its past where prosperity was solely dependent on fishing. Currently, the Panyu National Fishing Port Economic Zone is the first coastal fishing port economic zone in the "Golden Inner Bay" around the Pearl River Estuary. Covering an area of 280 square kilometers, with a total investment of CNY 1.41 billion and leveraging CNY 2.78 billion in social capital, it is a national-level civilized fishing port, a central fishing port, and the "Most Beautiful Fishing Port" in Guangdong. Building an industrial fishing port and vigorously developing the fishing port economy; Building a prosperous fishing port and continuously improving the livelihood and well-being of fishermen; Building an ecological fishing port and promoting the improvement of the ecological environment in fishing areas; Building a culturally rich fishing port and promoting the inheritance and development of fishing culture. Today, what I see at Lianshan Fishing Port are only small-scale traditional fishing boats. The real fishing industry is modern aquaculture, which is ubiquitous on Seagull Island, Dadaosha Island, and Longxue Island. Technology has overturned people's traditional understanding, allowing fishery production to be carried out on land.
