Door gods play an important decorative role in Lingnan architecture and are believed to ward off evil spirits and bring peace. Qin Qiong and Yuchi Gong, two exemplary door gods, are vividly depicted in colorful paintings on the main gate of the Guan Clan Ancestral Hall, bringing visitors deep into history. 2. The ends of the gable ridges are decorated with unique gray stucco ornaments known as "Bogu Arms." These decorations are arranged at varying heights with black backgrounds and white edges, adorned with red, green, and yellow colors on winding kui dragon patterns, interspersed with coins and fruits. The upper part of the Bogu features round-carved bats in various forms. 3. The one-horned lion design comes from a Foshan folk legend. Gray stucco is a unique outdoor decoration in traditional Lingnan architecture, made primarily from lime mixed with straw, paper, glutinous rice flour, and other materials in specific proportions after repeated hammering to create straw-fiber lime or paper-fiber lime as material. Unlike ceramic sculpture techniques, gray stucco is shaped on-site, first using tile tubes, copper wire, and steel nails as supports to fix the shape, then sculpting it, and finally painting it with various colors after it dries.
