No. 1 Jixiangfang Residence, Liwan, Guangzhou

No. 1 Jixiangfang was built in the Republic of China. It faces southeast and sits northwest. It is a three-story, two-bay brick and concrete structure with a flat roof. The exterior walls are made of bluestone brick and stone. The facade of the side bay is decorated with a swastika pattern of bluestone bricks, and the workmanship is exquisite. The main room of the building has a concave door with a plank door, a sliding door, and a wicket. There is a window on each side of the door. The second and third floors have non-cantilevered balconies, and each side of the balcony is decorated with a stone square column, imitating the Ionic capital decoration. A ladder door is opened on the right side of the facade of the side bay, with a window next to the ladder door, and two windows on each of the second and third floors. The parapet wall at the top of the building spans two rooms. A ladder house is built on the right side of the roof, and a four-pillar square pavilion is built on the left side. The square pavilion has green glazed tile eaves and a clipped edge, and a helmet roof decoration. The doors and windows on the facade of the building are all stone door clips and stone window clips. The workmanship is exquisite, which complements the carved balcony railings, the gray plastic on the balcony ceiling, the column decorations, the stone carvings on the parapet wall, and the exquisite wood carvings on the sliding door head. In September 2011, it was announced as a cultural relics protection unit in Liwan District.
