Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain, located in Baiyun District, is one of the renowned mountains in southern China, historically known as "The First Beauty of Yangcheng." The mountain spans a vast area, consisting of over 30 peaks, and is part of the Nine Lotus Mountain range, the highest peak in Guangdong. Covering an area of 20.98 square kilometers, its main peak, Moxing Ridge, stands at 382 meters. In the late Qin Dynasty, the scholar Zheng Anqi lived here, gathering herbs to help others. During the Jin Dynasty, Ge Hong practiced alchemy on the mountain. From the Tang and Song Dynasties onwards, famous poets such as Du Shenyan, Li Qunyu, Su Shi, and Han Yu visited the mountain, leaving behind valuable historical and cultural legacies. Today, Baiyun Mountain has been developed into a large-scale scenic and tourist area, featuring seven major zones from south to north: Luhu Scenic Area, Santailing Scenic Area, Mingchungu Scenic Area, Moxingling Scenic Area, Mingzhu Building Scenic Area, Feige Ridge Scenic Area, and Heyiling Scenic Area. The mountain is home to three national record-holding attractions: the largest garden-style park in China, Yuntai Garden; the largest natural birdcage, Mingchungu; and the largest themed sculpture park, Sculpture Park. Additionally, Baiyun Mountain offers well-developed tourism services, including convenient transportation options and diverse recreational activities such as grass skiing, slides, and mini bungee jumping.
