The Orthodox Unity Sect Patriarch

The Orthodox Unity Temple is located to the southwest of the Longhu Mountain Scenic Area. It is the place where Zhang Daoling, the founder of Taoism, refined the Taoist elixir, and it is associated with the legendary tale of 'the elixir's completion and the appearance of the dragon and tiger.' Subsequently, the fourth-generation Celestial Master Zhang Sheng rebuilt it as the 'Ancestral Celestial Master Temple' and resided there to ascend the platform and pass on the teachings. Since then, every time the Three Yuan Festival comes around, Taoist priests from all over rush here to listen to the sermons. The current Orthodox Unity Temple has been rebuilt on the original site in the architectural style of the Song Dynasty, incorporating some reasonable institutional and artistic features from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The overall architecture is simple and elegant, with a majestic aura and a proud spirit.
