The scenery surrounded by mountains and lakes looks like a postcard. It is rumored to have inspired the setting for 'Frozen.' It's like stepping into the world of 'Frozen.' The travel time between Salzburg and Hallstatt is about 2 to 2.5 hours one way by combining train and bus or just train. You can visit as a day trip from Salzburg, so it's highly recommended. The best season for sightseeing is said to be from May to October, but we visited in mid-December. With a light layer of snow, the snow-capped mountains towering behind the lake and buildings make the scenery of this town even more magnificent.
