Zimbabwe - a perfect blend of family, culture, and nature.”

I recently spent a few unforgettable weeks in Zimbabwe, and I can honestly say it was one of the best trips I’ve had in a long time. From reconnecting with friends and family to exploring hidden gems, every moment was filled with joy and wonder. Starting from the vibrant Marooro celebrations to road trips through Masvingo and back to Harare, every experience was a feast for the senses. Accommodation Highlights: Selah Lodge, Glen Livet, Masvingo: A serene, peaceful spot, perfect for unwinding. Anne Nduku’s Airbnb: Anne is a phenomenal host, going above and beyond to make guests feel at home. I highly recommend her place — comfortable, safe, and filled with thoughtful touches. #RyeHill #GreystonePark What I Loved: Spent time at our farm by Lake Muririkwi in Masvingo — still under development, but soon to be an essential resting place and hangout spot. Pure off-grid living, surrounded by nature and the peaceful charm of the lake. The stunning plant and flower garden at Harare Drive/Borrowdale Road corner — I picked up strawberries, marigolds, and a snake plant, and planted them at our place in Zimbabwe. A lovely way to leave a piece of this trip growing there. Authentic Zimbabwean cuisine — while I enjoyed Nando’s (Avondale), Steers (Highlands), and Food Lovers (Greendale), nothing beats homemade traditional meals shared with family. The National Gallery in Harare: A cultural treasure with wonderful exhibits, including a VR display of Marooro celebrations and the launch of the #1925GlenNorah brand by Valentine Eluwasi. A treat for the eyes and the soul! Visiting Genius Ray School in Newlands with my grandson — a beautiful example of a classic Zimbabwean private school setting. Driving on the newly opened Trabablas Interchange between Harare and Masvingo on its launch day — a real milestone for Zimbabwe’s infrastructure and a smooth, easy drive! Travel Tips: The weather was perfect during my visit — warm days and cool evenings. I found it easy to get around by car — just get ready for the hustle, bustle, and a little bumpsle of Harare and its roads! Adds to the charm and adventure. For garden lovers, the local plant nurseries are a real treasure trove. Zimbabwe is truly a place where culture, family, and nature beautifully intertwine. I can’t recommend it enough — whether it’s your first visit or a return home, you’ll leave with your heart full and your spirit refreshed. Already looking forward to my next trip back! 🇿🇼
