Hita City, Oita Prefecture. National Historic Site and Early Modern Japanese Educational Heritage Site "Kangi-en Site"

Hita City, Oita Prefecture. The remains of the Kan'i-en site are a national historic site and educational heritage site of early modern Japan in the Mamedamachi area. Kan'i-en is said to have been the greatest hope for a private school in the Edo period. Even today, the thatched roof of the Shufu-an is preserved, and the remains of other facilities can be seen along with explanations to learn about the scale of the school at the time. The Kan'i-en Education and Research Center is a facility where you can learn about Seigi-en and Hirose Tanso through document displays and guide videos, and is free to use except on Wednesdays and during the New Year holidays. There is no admission fee. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. 950m from Hita Station Kan'i-en Site 2-4-2-13 Tanso, Hita City, Oita Prefecture, 877-0012 #Oita #Hita #Mameda #NationalHistoricSite #HitaWalk #OitaTrip #OitaTourism #TravelWithMe
