Saigon Central Post Office - HCMC, Vietnam

Saigon Central Post Office, located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is a remarkable gem that's built during the French colonial era (between 1886 & 1891). It was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the renowned French architect famous for Eiffel Tower. The architectural style of the post office reflects a blend of Gothic, Renaissance & French colonial influences. The interior features a spacious hall with high ceilings, adorned with intricate decorations & large maps of Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta. In the post office, it now houses souvenir shops and cafes too! During the World War II, the building became the HQ of the Japanese military administration. After Vietnam's independence in 1954, it continued to serve as a post office. Today, the Saigon Central Post Office is not only a functioning post office, but also a popular tourist attraction.
