#earthdayjourney Aunt Mai Canteen - so many things to “wow”! First is the rib rice. Aunt Mai’s rib rice is definitely not the standard rib rice because it has the taste of Chinese sausage 😂 The first bite, I tried to remember what it tasted like, so I swallowed the last bite before I could think of the taste of fresh Chinese sausage. The strange taste combined with the crunchy iberico pork made it very enjoyable to eat. Next is the fish sauce. I was shocked when I put the spoon down. It was as sweet as caramel! (I left the video in the comments section). The sausage part, besides the scallops on top, is the highlight, but the meat is also quite different when the meat is well-blended, sticking together almost like pork sausage, no longer having the texture of minced meat. The combo I ordered came with a glass of strawberry peach tea that was very tasty, not too sweet with syrup. The purple sticky rice yogurt dessert was nothing special; the jackfruit spring rolls were 10 VND, but not included; fragrant like jackfruit segments 😂 Speaking of which, it tastes like fried bananas but sweet and fragrant with jackfruit. When eating, remember to blow carefully, don't burn your mouth like me when you bite 🥲 The last wow is that now I know that Di Mai is in the same system with many other chains of stores including fine dining Sen, San Fu Lou (it seems that these two branches are next to each other), Phe La and Katinat (there are also sushi restaurants that the admin has reviewed but I haven't tried them yet so I can't remember the name 😅). 📍Di Mai Restaurant (many branches; the one I went to was at M-Plaza).
