Highlights of Songhuangtai: The stone tablet with the three characters "Songwangtai" engraved on it

Sung Wong Toi Park, located at the junction of Sung Wong Toi Road and Ma Tau Chung Road, is a park of great historical value in the Kowloon City District. Located in the bustling city, it is surrounded by rare trees nearby, providing an oasis in the city for residents in Kowloon City. The park is actually very small. There are stone tablets on both sides of the entrance to tell tourists about this historical event. Songwangtai was originally located on a hill called Shengshan on the seashore. After the Yuan Dynasty conquered the Song Dynasty, the Yuan people carved the words "Songwangtai" on a huge rock on the hill to commemorate that the Song Emperor had once stayed here. In 1941, when the Japanese army occupied Hong Kong, they blew up the huge rocks on the Holy Mountain to build the Kai Tak Airport. Fortunately, the huge rock engraved with the three characters "Songwangtai" was preserved. In 1945, when Hong Kong was restored to its former glory, the government built the "Songwangtai Garden" to the west of the original site of the sacred mountain in order to preserve the historical relics. They also cut the huge rock into a square shape and moved it into the garden. Since the establishment of Sung Wong Toi Station and the announcement of the reconstruction of Kowloon City, many people have come to check in at "Sung Wong Toi".
