Hong Kong Travel Notes

#ItinerarySharing Three-day sketch of Hong Kong and Macau: the collision of Macau's charm and Hong Kong's street culture 🗓Itinerary: The starting point of this trip seemed a bit rushed, because when I was dealing with visa matters in Guangzhou, I quickly decided to go to Hong Kong and Macau. Although the trip was only three days long, it allowed me to get to know these two completely different cities in a new way. **The tranquility and diversity of Macau** Compared to bustling Hong Kong, Macau is more compact and easier to explore. Therefore, I spent most of my time in this small city that blends Chinese and Western cultures. Although Macau is not large in size, its rich history and diverse culture deeply attracted me. Walking along the narrow streets, you can see the wonderful combination of Portuguese architecture and Chinese temples everywhere. One day is enough to easily explore the old town and experience the perfect blend of modern and classical. **Hong Kong: A cultural tracing in a busy city 🇭🇰** Although Macau has its own unique charm, I still don’t want to miss the unique street culture of Hong Kong, a modern city. Hong Kong is another stop on my journey, especially Causeway Bay in the southern district of Hong Kong, which carries my youthful memories of Hong Kong films. As a veteran fan of Hong Kong movies, every street and alley in Causeway Bay seems to be telling the legendary story of "Young and Dangerous". Walking through it, you feel like you are in a movie scene, and the nostalgic atmosphere is overwhelming. In addition, Cobblestone Street and Graham Street are two places I like very much. These streets are Hong Kong's cultural treasures, with graffiti on the streets and handicraft shops in the alleys full of a strong cultural atmosphere. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis, these places retain the essence of Hong Kong's local culture. **Victoria Harbour at night 🚢🎑** At night, I took the ferry from the Avenue of Stars to Victoria Harbour. Although the Victoria Harbour light show at 8pm every night is widely anticipated, I feel that the actual effect is a bit bland, perhaps because the city lights themselves are charming enough. **🍲Recommended dishes: Hong Kong on the tip of the tongue** When traveling, you can’t miss the food experience. At K11 Art Mall, I visited a Michelin-recommended Japanese restaurant called "Tagano". Their tsukemen has a unique texture and rich flavor, and it was one of those moments in my trip that made me stop and savor it. If you are a Japanese food lover, this restaurant is definitely worth a try. **📝Note tips: Nighttime safety** While sharing this wonderful journey, I would also like to remind everyone to pay attention to safety when traveling at night. In some areas of Hong Kong, especially where there are more East Asian or Vietnamese immigrants, security issues at night may be slightly complicated. Therefore, it is recommended that you stay alert when going out at night. --- In general, although this trip to Hong Kong and Macau was short, it made me realize the charm and cultural diversity of these two cities. The tranquility and history of Macau and the prosperity and nostalgia of Hong Kong form a sharp contrast. If you are interested in culture, history and street art, Hong Kong and Macau are definitely worth visiting multiple times.
