The magnificent elevator whisks you up to the 38th floor, where, unexpectedly, the elevator doors open to yet another social space. Unlike traditional narrow elevator lobbies, Rosewood has created a floor lounge on each guest room floor, complete with sofas, bookshelves, and newspapers and magazines. The sofas are separated by bookshelves, essentially creating an executive lounge on each floor, convenient for guests to hold brief, informal receptions. Stepping into the room, I was struck by the breathtaking view. A harbor-view suite never fails to impress. To the right of the entryway is a powder room and a tea room. While I'm not sure why a one-bedroom suite needs a separate tea room, it does feel a bit superfluous. With a total area of over 100 square meters, it's remarkably spacious for Hong Kong, where space is at a premium. The living room features several mirrored walls, a signature touch of designer Tony Chi. Connecting the master bedroom and bathroom is a walk-in closet and dressing table. To the right is the bathroom, and straight ahead is another entrance to the suite. The attention to detail is evident, even including a cocktail trolley mini bar and infant skincare products (though I'm not quite at that stage yet). The design incorporates familiar louvered window elements and classic British-style fabrics. The bathroom is Instagram-ready from every angle: a double-door vanity area, a double shower, and the octagonal copper basins that are a continuation of the Rosewood London aesthetic. Details within details—this is the confidence of Rosewood.
