Savor the flavors of "Shinobi and Ying" @Heqi Restaurant

I believe some of my older friends have heard the lyrics "Over the mountains and across the valleys"! I suddenly started humming this song because I recently ate at a ninja-themed restaurant, which brought back childhood memories so I don't mind betraying my age, haha. Located in the heart of Wong Tai Sin, Wo Chi Canteen is the first ninja-themed restaurant in Hong Kong and is full of fun. The restaurant's ninja-themed décor, paired with Japanese sliding doors, has a very Japanese feel. There are booths and sushi bar seats inside, which are quite comfortable. The dining track is designed with ancient Japanese eaves, and is equipped with an LED screen playing Ninja IP animations. Meals are delivered to you by automatic delivery carts without human intervention, so you can enjoy a unique dining experience comfortably. The temperature is quite high today, so order a cup of White Peach Oolong Cold Brew Tea at $18/cup to cool down. The sweet oolong tea flavor is quite charming with a hint of white peach fruit aroma. The marinated bonito with garlic at $38 is my favorite Japanese appetizer. Each piece is crispy and has a very sweet garlic flavor. The portion is also generous and I couldn’t finish it from the beginning of the meal until I left. It’s really worth it. The custard steamed egg is $18 and is smooth and tender, with a rich aroma of egg and the sweet taste of bonito. It's really good. Dengaku miso grilled eggplant $28! The miso brings a sweet flavor to the eggplant, and it is so soft and delicious when cooked. The mashed potato and cheese rice cake at $15 is always so attractive, but this one has mashed potato added to it, turning it into the axis of evil. The cheese mushrooms are $40. The juicy texture is delicious with one bite, and the combination with the salty and fragrant cheese is very memorable. Golden baked avocado with Mentaiko $28 is so delicious! The slightly spicy and salty mentaiko is spread all over the tender avocado. It has a very smooth and tasty taste, which is definitely a flavor that you will crave. How can you eat Japanese food without trying sashimi! We ordered hamachi belly $42/2 pieces, scallops $39/3 pieces, jumbo shrimp $56/piece, medium tuna belly $62/2 pieces and redback sashimi $32/3 pieces. Each item was very fresh. If I had to choose, I would particularly like scallops, which are thick, soft and glutinous, and taste sweet and fresh. As a sea urchin fan, I couldn’t help but order a sea urchin roll for $62! The seaweed retains its crispy texture, and the sea urchin inside is sweet and fragrant, which goes perfectly with the delicious rice. Grilled Kurobuta pork belly is $38/skewer and the meat is elastic and has a meaty aroma. Live eel is $36/skewer and you can choose to grill it with salt or sauce. We love eels so we ordered one skewer of each. The eel has a firm texture and a fishy aroma. The skin of the salt-grilled eel is very crispy and has become my favorite. Ise Ebi Tempura Don $178! Just think of me as exaggerating, but having a whole lobster in the rice bowl is really luxurious. The lobster tempura is golden and crispy and not greasy at all! The fresh lobster meat is chewy and delicious. The rice bowl is also served with a variety of vegetable tempura, the most attractive of which is definitely the sweet potato, which has a crispy, salty and sweet texture and is very appealing. The soft Japanese rice is also a highlight, and every bite is filled with rice aroma, so high quality. Another must-try bowl I think is the special double-top Luorong seafood bowl for $218! This rice bowl is really very filling. It contains tuna belly puree, salmon, scallops, tuna, cucumber, senbonzuke, clams, salmon roe, sea urchin and conch. Needless to say, the taste is absolutely the ceiling of umami. This means that there is a follow-up to the second level! After eating the sashimi rice, you can add the following hot and spicy milky white snapper soup to make tea-stained rice. Remember to add the accompanying Japanese yuzu peel to ensure that you can taste three different delicious flavors. I tried my friend's fried chicken white curry udon! The chewy udon with the sweet curry is delicious, and the fried chicken is also fragrant and tasty. If you like the aroma of meat, you must try the Kagoshima Black Pork Shoulder Grilled Donburi $95! The black pork shoulder is roasted with oil and is very delicious. It tastes very delicious when eaten with a mouthful of soft cooked rice. For dessert we chose roasted tea and green tea panna cotta! The panna cotta is very smooth and delicious and not at all sweet. Both flavors are excellent but I personally prefer the sweet and fragrant roasted tea panna cotta. The CP value of this Heqi Restaurant is really very high. Why can't we find such a high-quality restaurant in Tung Chung? I wonder if my boss can hear what I am saying.
