A Craving for Dipping Noodles

When the craving for ramen or dipping noodles hits, I head to my local noodle shop, Menya Fuku. Without further ado, I put on my coat and head towards the noodle shop. The small shop remains the same, and the menu is quite simple, focusing solely on dipping noodles. You just need to choose the dipping sauce. After struggling between seafood, tomato, and black garlic (they also have a spicy option, but I'm not a fan of spicy food), I decided to go with the basic seafood and pork bone dipping noodles. The noodles and the rich dipping sauce are served separately, and the presentation is still impressive. The sauce contains a whole soft-boiled egg, bamboo shoots, green onions, char siu, and seafood powder. The egg is perfectly soft-boiled, with an enticing orange yolk, and the flavor is rich. The char siu is tender, and the bamboo shoots are not fibrous. All the ingredients are just right. The thick noodles hold the sauce well. Normally, I prefer thin noodles when eating ramen, but it's a different story with dipping noodles. With a few quick moves, I finished the entire bowl of noodles and almost wanted a refill. Lunch comes with a drink, and having a can of cola with ramen or dipping noodles is a perfect match! $78 including a drink, no service charge.
