🌟Take advantage of the Buddha's Birthday holiday to experience the annual Cheung Chau Island event - the Tai Ping Ching Jiao Festival. This event, which lasted for several days, reached its climax in the last two days, with the island filled with a sense of ritual sacrifice and celebration. 🏮There are big and small buns everywhere, which symbolizes a good omen of peace and health. The sound of gongs and drums from the Piao Se parade is incessant. Children are carried high up, put on makeup and wear various costumes, walking through the streets under the scorching sun, showing full professionalism. 🌞We squeezed in the crowd to watch under the scorching sun, unable to go in or out. Even with an umbrella, we felt suffocated. One of the highlights on the island is that you have to queue up to buy anything, especially there are so many people buying peace buns that you have to give up regretfully. 🚶‍♂️The most outrageous thing was that when leaving the island, the boat queue stretched for about two kilometers back and forth, and it took an hour to get on the dock. This is probably the longest line I have ever waited in. The Tai Ping Ching Jiao Festival is really great, allowing people to experience the folk culture of Cheung Chau up close and personal. 🤔But it's enough to have seen it once.
