🚲 Green Cycling Tour — Tai Mei Tuk

Tai Mei Tuk (also the Tai Mei Tuk where I grew up) is located next to the Plover Cove freshwater reservoir in the New Territories. Every weekend it attracts a large number of tourists who come to the embankment to have fun. The healthiest and most environmentally friendly way to get to Tai Mei Tuk is by bicycle (especially on weekends when traffic jams are unavoidable in and out of Tai Mei Tuk). If you are confident in your physical fitness, you can choose to rent a car in Tai Wai or Sha Tin, otherwise you can choose to rent a car in the center of Tai Po. Of course, you can also rent a bicycle using the shared bicycle mobile app. The journey from Shatin is about 22 kilometres, while the journey from Tai Po is about 10 kilometres. After arriving at Tai Mei Tuk, there are many activities to choose from, including buying a kite from a nearby store and flying it on the dam; renting a boat to go rafting in Plover Cove, or even to visit the mangroves; walking along the Family Trail and breathing in the fresh air; going for a cup of coffee or a Thai meal; or just watching the beautiful sunset at dusk on the main dam. If you don't know how to ride a bicycle, you can also take the 75K bus or 20C minibus from Tai Po Market MTR Station. It is more environmentally friendly to use public transportation.
