Lintienshan Forestry Cultural Park

Lintienshan in Fenglin, Hualien, was once Taiwan's fourth largest logging site and remains the most complete and distinctive logging base in Taiwan. In terms of both scale and significance, it is a crucial landmark and witness in the history of Taiwan's forestry development. Although the glory days of Lintienshan are long gone, the park still houses a rich collection of logging tools, traditional firefighting equipment, and other artifacts. It also features the sizable Zhongshan Hall and a cluster of Japanese cypress buildings. With the implementation of the 1991 policy banning the logging of natural forests, the golden era of Lintienshan came to an end. Today, visitors to the Lintienshan Forestry Cultural Park can enjoy afternoon tea at a cypress-scented café, reminisce about the good old days when residents watched movies at Zhongshan Hall, admire exquisite wood carvings, and stroll through the Lintienshan Forestry Heritage Museum to experience the past splendor of Lintienshan.
