The Little Lotus Garden was the private garden of Liu Yong, the richest of the "Four Elephants" of Nanxun in the late Qing Dynasty. The garden is centered around a lotus pond, with pavilions, rockeries, ponds, and winding paths. In this season, you'll only see a pond of withered lotus and dead branches, but "keeping the withered lotus to listen to the sound of rain" is also a kind of mood. The Jiaye Library is the largest private library in modern China, built by Liu Yong's grandson, Liu Chenggan. It houses 600,000 volumes and features simple and elegant architecture and exquisite garden layout. The Little Lotus Garden and Jiaye Library are very close to each other and can be visited together.
