Check in at the Iksan Museum (Mileuksa Temple Site)

#Korea must-visit check-in spots Iksan Museum is a relatively young museum, which was only completed in January 2020. It is the 13th national museum in South Korea. The museum is built next to the ruins of Mireuksa Temple, the largest temple site in Baekje. It mainly displays the sunset light of Baekje's last capital in Iksan. Baekje only built Iksan for a few decades, so the remains are far less abundant than those in Buyeo and Gongju. However, the relics unearthed from various sites in Iksan are of the highest quality among the capital cities. The museum has three exhibition halls. The first exhibition hall displays the remains of the Baekje capital, the second exhibition hall displays the unearthed objects from Mireuksa Temple, and the third exhibition hall displays the general history of the northwestern part of Jeonbuk. Green glazed rafters have appeared in the Maitreya Temple, and the shape of the ridgepole also shows that it has undergone further development. For example, the relic caskets, sutra plates, and some fragments of murals unearthed in the Maitreya Temple are all important relics of the Maitreya Temple.
