Jeongjoksanseong Fortress

#summervacay Jeongjoksanseong Fortress is a total hidden gem if you’re into light hiking, cool views, and a bit of history without the tourist overload. Tucked up in the hills of Ganghwa Island, it’s got that old-school stone wall vibe and just enough uphill walking to feel like you did something, without being a full-on workout. The path winds through trees and leads to some pretty awesome lookout spots, you can see the river and beyond on a clear day. The fortress itself is partly restored, so you get a good mix of ruins and rebuilt sections, which makes it feel authentic but not totally crumbled. It’s quiet, peaceful, and kind of perfect for clearing your head or just getting some nature time. Not super flashy, but definitely worth the short hike. Bring water, wear decent shoes, and maybe pack a snack to enjoy at the top. It’s the kind of place that surprises you in the best way.
