[Shizuoka] A World Heritage Site in a Place Like This! The Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace, a Heritage Site of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution

I knew that in 2015, related spots around Japan were registered as World Heritage sites as part of the Meiji Industrial Revolution in Japan, but I didn't know that one of them was in Izu✨ So I went to the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace right away! However, unfortunately the exterior wall was under repair😭 (I think it's finished now) Instead, I was given a clear file with a picture of the exterior. First, I learned about the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace at the museum and saw the real thing. Although most of it was covered with sheets, the remains of the furnace, which are a highlight, were visible. Although it looks shabby overall, I was deeply impressed by how important it was to the development of Meiji Japan. After the tour, I ate eel at a nearby restaurant and went home. I forgot to take a photo, but the nearby Egawa Residence, an important cultural property, is also a must-see! 📍 260-1 Naka, Izunokuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture #WorldHeritage #History #IzuTrip #trip2022
