An interactive step back in time

Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in North America. It is essentially an open-air museum that seeks to recreate how life would be in the early settlement. Essentially the fort area is rebuilt and there are people dressed in period pieces that will guide you and inform you about the history of each area. There are also several sites which are preserved sites, meaning they have preserved the ruins of the original buildings. The area is really informative and really walks you through the daily life and places used by the initial colonists. It also seeks to address some of the relationships with the native American people. Overall, it's a very interesting site which will give you insight on the early days of what is now America.
