Jeju Island Travel | Half-day trip to Udo Island in winter, the wind is so strong but you still have to go!

📍Jeju Udo Island 🚢Transportation: It takes about 90 minutes to get there by bus from downtown Jeju. Even if you don't know how to walk after you get there, just follow the crowd and you will reach the ticket office. From "Seongsan Port" to "Udo Tianjin Port", you need to fill in the information when buying tickets (friends who go back and forth need to fill in two forms), prepare your passport, and we bought a round-trip ticket for 10,500 won. There are quite a lot of boat trips, but the latest one is at 16:00, so be careful not to miss the last one! 🚗Transportation on Niu Island: After arriving on the island, there are circular buses on the island, and you can also rent electric cars without a driver's license. The speed limit on the island is 30km, but the fastest speed of this car is only 28km. The one we rented cost KRW50,000 (about TWD1,250). I feel like I was ripped off, but I have no proof because I can't find a price list and they didn't tell me the price when I asked (their English is not very good). The price on the Internet is different from the actual price, but this one is really cute, with bunny ears. ⛰️Attractions and meals: We planned to go around the island counterclockwise and first went to the "Xiayongyidong Black Sand Beach". The scenery was beautiful. The first stop will determine my impression of the island. I can only say: I love it. Then I highly recommend a peanut ice cream shop here, "Jimmy's natural ice cream", it's really delicious! Moreover, the uncle boss is super cute and hospitable. It is very comfortable and happy to chat with him. I boldly guess that the boss is a capital E person. Then the ice cream is super delicious, and the grapefruit tea (hot) is delicious. After taking photos there for over an hour, we decided to have lunch at the "on-off" fried pork cutlet restaurant near Ushijima Hiyoshima. The store has good decoration, good service and good presentation of the food (don’t ask me if it tastes good, it’s just… well presented). 🌬️Going there in winter really feels like a typhoon day outside. The wind is super strong, the trees are suffering, the sea is suffering, and the birds fly helplessly. After we had our meal, we went to the "Flying Island Lighthouse" to check out the place. I, a guy weighing almost 70kg, was about to fly away because the wind was so strong that I had to stand sideways. ah! Fortunately, I was born and raised in Hsinchu, so this feeling is very familiar. You have to shout to talk to your travel companions, and the whole process will be too shaky if you take out the camera to take pictures. If hail falls again at this time, please rush back into the house immediately, it really... hurts. I really think the scenery is beautiful. If I were wearing full clothing that is windproof, hailproof and warm, I might be able to enjoy it slowly from outside. For example, the "Xia Gaoshuidong Beach" looked beautiful, but the wind blew my health down to zero, so I could only sit in the electric car and watch. I was almost dying. Finally, we decided to drive around the island, and only stopped to take pictures where we felt strongly that we should. Before we knew it, time had passed and it was 2:30 in the afternoon. We returned the car in a state of embarrassment and escaped from the Kingdom of Wind - Ushio Island, taking with us the stunning photos that we had taken with our lives. ❤️Reason for recommending Ushi Island: I didn’t expect that I would be blown away by the wind when I went there in winter. Friends who weigh less than 40 kilograms please carry your weight (just kidding 😝). Be careful with your hat and your hair not to get blown away. Oh, and if the weather forecast says it will rain, I don’t recommend going there. It may snow in Jeju Island in December, and before it snows, you will encounter hail, which is very painful. Being hit by hail at a speed of 55 kilometers per hour is even more painful. When it rains and hail mixed together, it hurts even more. but! The scenery is really beautiful. Entering each store in the cold wind feels particularly precious. The relaxed feeling of the island is very relaxing. I feel regretful that I didn’t enjoy the beach because it was so beautiful. There are beautiful views worth stopping at every place when you stroll on the island. I feel that it would be a completely different experience if you come here in the summer.
