Jeju Olle Trail Course Jeoji Oreum

Jeoji Oreum, a recommended course on the Jeju Olle Trail, is surrounded by cedar trees. The path leading up to Jeoji Oreum is equipped with public restrooms that are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Among the oreums I've visited, these restrooms were the most spacious and clean, seemingly cleaned daily. Jeoji Oreum stands at an elevation of 239 meters, with a relative height of 100 meters, a crater circumference of 800 meters, and a depth of 62 meters. It features a funnel-shaped volcanic crater and is home to over 20,000 trees from 70 families, including pine, cedar, wild cherry, hackberry, camphor, and Japanese spindle trees. The path leading to the oreum entrance includes a fitness area and a nature learning ecological center, making it a popular exercise route for residents of the Hangyeong-myeon area. In 2007, it won the grand prize at the Beautiful Forest National Competition. As part of Jeju Olle Trail Route 13, you can spot Olle Trail markers throughout the course. Although the trail was muddy due to recent rain, the phytoncides emitted by the cedar trees and the forest aroma provided a healing experience. Climbing the stairs to the observatory, you can enjoy a close-up view of snow-covered Hallasan during winter, along with the scenic oreum landscapes and western Jeju attractions. Famous landmarks such as Hallasan, Sanbangsan, and Biyangdo can be seen, and visiting in spring or summer might offer even more beautiful views.
