The Shinsakai River dresses up in a magnificent outfit, a thousand sakura trees bloom on the banks. People admire the flowers, walk under the crowns, have picnics, go boating on the river. This is the Flowering on the Shinsakai River. How to get there There are trains to the river. You may have to walk a little from the station. From Nagoya City, take the Meitetsu Inuyama Line to Inuyama Station. There you need to transfer to the Meitetsu Kakamigahara line and get to Shiminkoen-mae station — it's right next to the river. In Gifu City, take the same Meitetsu Kakamigahara line to Shiminkoen-mae Station. Japan Rail Pass holders can travel to Naka Station via JR Takayama Line. From there it is a 10—minute walk to the place. Kakamigahara is an ordinary suburb of Gifu City for most of the year. However, every spring during the flowering period, it turns into the main city of the region. More than a thousand sakura trees grow along the river.
