You can turn any corner and stumble upon a small, tucked-away temple — calm, almost as if forgotten by the world. We arrived early in the morning and had most places to ourselves. It wasn’t until midday near the more popular shrines that we ran into other tourists. The rest of the time, we just wandered aimlessly, let the breeze wash over us, and let our thoughts drift. If you ever feel the need to step away from the fast-paced rhythm of everyday life, Kamakura is the place to go.
