The Hellfire Pass

Hellfire Pass is a railway cutting in Thailand on the former Burma Railway, often known as the Death Railway. It is located in the province of Kanchanaburi in western Thailand. This pass was constructed with forced labor during WWII, primarily by allied prisoners of war from a variety of countries. The work was done in terrible conditions, with many prisoners of war losing their lives. Hellfire Pass got its name because the pass was lit up by torchlights at night, making the prisoners working in these hard conditions at night with the red light blazing on them look like they were in Hell. #ancienttomb#historicculture#roadtrip#museumquest#summervacation#hikingtrails#urbanexplorer
