Kansai Cherry Blossom Guide | Osaka, Kyoto

#cherryblossom25 Spring in Kansai is a time when cherry blossoms fill the trees, and I’ve put together a list of must-visit cherry blossom spots in Osaka, Kyoto, and Hyogo, avoiding overly crowded places. Since it's a long guide, I’ll break it into two parts to help you explore the perfect mix of ancient city charm and natural beauty! Be sure to save it and plan a trip with your friends! Osaka Cherry Blossom Spots Flower Expo Memorial Park - Tsurumi Ryokuchi Features: Known as Osaka’s “green lung,” this park is perfect for picnics and photography, with cherry blossoms and vast lawns complementing each other. The Yoshino cherries and double-flowered cherries bloom in a spectacular display. The cherry blossoms falling in the breeze look like a scene from a movie! Address: 2-163 Tsurumiryokuchi, Tsurumi-ku, Osaka Transportation: 5-minute walk from Tsurumiryokuchi Station on the Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line Mint Bureau Cherry Blossoms Features: A famous cherry blossom tunnel in Osaka, this is where I had my first cherry blossom viewing experience! Open for about a week in mid-April, more than 130 varieties of cherry blossoms bloom, with late-blooming cherries being especially beautiful. At night, there are lights that make it magical. Address: 1-1-79 Temma, Kita-ku, Osaka Transportation: 15-minute walk from either Osaka Temmangu Station (JR Tozai Line) or Tanimachi 9-chome Station (Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line) Kyoto Cherry Blossom Spots Kamogawa Park - Hanami-koji Street Features: Along the Kamo River’s Hanami-koji Street, the double-flowered weeping cherries hang like waterfalls, and the pink blossoms reflect on the river’s surface. You can even capture a shot with Kyoto Tower in the background – perfect for photos, especially when wearing a kimono! Address: Kamigamo Motoyama, Kita-ku, Kyoto Transportation: 10-minute walk from Kitayama Station on the Kyoto City Subway Karasuma Line Former Saga Imperial Palace - Daikaku-ji Temple Cherry Blossoms Features: The ancient temple paired with cherry blossoms creates a historical and serene atmosphere. The cherry blossoms around Osawa Pond are reflected beautifully in the water. A perfect place for tranquil photography, where every shot feels like a masterpiece. Address: 4 Saga Osawa-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto Transportation: 20-minute walk from Saga-Arashiyama Station (JR Sagano Line) or take a bus for convenience #travel
