Amazing! I went to Karatsu Kunchi

Karatsu Kunchi is an event held in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. Karatsu Kunchi is the largest event in Karatsu, held in the fall at Karatsu Shrine. I went to this event, which is held every year in early November! It's a three-day event where you can see the world heritage floats. I went to see the Otabisho Shinko parade, which pulls the floats down the street. The Otabisho Shinko starts from Karatsu Shrine and travels around the old town. 14 floats depart in order. I noticed that there was a turning point in the route near Karatsu Station, so I grabbed a spot and waited for the floats to come. The floats pass by one by one. It's very impressive to see them turn with momentum. Apparently, sometimes they don't turn well, so I watched and took photos of the floats while watching their trajectory! I learned a lot from watching the Karatsu Kunchi while talking to the event staff. By the time I was leaving, there were a lot of people around Karatsu Station. There were so many people that it was difficult to walk, and it was hard to get through the ticket gates... Thank you to the JR staff for your hard work.
