[Taiwan] The next Yehliu! The spectacular view of the strangely shaped rock formations at Heping Island Park

Heping Island Park is located in the northeastern tip of Taiwan. Yehliu Geopark is famous as a world natural heritage site in Taiwan, but Heping Island Park is a rock formation area that can be called the post-Yehliu. The landscape is like a mini Cappadocia, and compared to Yehliu, it is small enough that you can see it in about an hour, but there are unique rock formations such as mushroom rock and lion's head rock carved along the coast. The entrance fee is 80 NTD for adults (as of 2018), but the seawater pool installed in the park is free. The seawater is very clear, there are many fish swimming, and the green of the seaweed is beautiful. It was crowded with local families. Because there is a military garrison nearby, some areas are off-limits. Because it is close to the sea, there are seafood restaurants along the coast that use fresh seafood.
