Apollo Bay to Cumberland River - The Great Ocean Road's hidden coastline

This 25-kilometer coastal road is the most easily overlooked treasure of the Great Ocean Road! Leaving the eucalyptus forest of the Kennett River (remember to look for wild koalas!), the road suddenly hugs the cliffs, and at every turn you can see emerald waves crashing against the reefs, splashing white foam like spilled champagne. Continuing north, the estuary of the Wye River glows like gold foil in the sun, and the winding sandbar is exposed at low tide. The most amazing thing is the end of the Cumberland River - the junction of the river and the sea forms an amber dividing line, and the rocks on the shore are washed out with honeycomb-like holes. There are almost no tourists here, only a few surfers waiting for the waves, their figures against the distant mountains in the mist, like a watercolor painting. Tips: - There are many sharp turns along the way, so remember to help the driver see the scenery. - The Cumberland River campground has the wildest toilet on the Great Ocean Road (the kind that faces the waves directly). - If you see the "Road Subject to Coastal Erosion" warning sign, please drive slowly, as this section of the road is really disappearing.
