Luminarie at Kobe East Park

#thingstodo Gathering spot for two major events that memorialize victims of the Great Hanshin Awaji earthquake of 1995: Luminarie and an annual memorial service on January 17, the day of the earthquake. Open year-round and accessible from all directions including an underground passage. Located ocean-side of the Kobe City Hall and a 15 minute walk from JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin Sannomiya stations. An earthquake memorial is located at the far end.
