It is a memorial to commemorate the bravery of the Thai navy who fought against the invading French fleet. Although the Thai navy was outnumbered, they were able to fight with honor, causing the French fleet to be damaged and having to retreat. The route to the memorial may have some parts that are one-lane and up and down hills. Driving a car may require expertise and caution, but riding a motorcycle may be easier. There are vendors selling food and drinks at the memorial, so it is not quiet even though it is the farthest point on the island. You can sit and eat on the beach in front of the memorial. Nearby is a beach called Long Beach, the longest beach in the area.
