Five days to enjoy Koh Samui and unlock the hidden treasures

As a frequent traveler to Thailand, I have never had the chance to visit Koh Samui. This time, I finally took advantage of the opportunity provided by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Bangkok Airways to step into this long-dreamt-of island resort and started a relaxing five-day and four-night vacation. Every minute of every second was pleasant and unforgettable. Take the high-speed rail from Guangzhou South Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, and then transfer to the Airport Express to Hong Kong Airport. The whole journey takes only two hours and is smooth and unobstructed. At 16:30 in the afternoon, we boarded a Bangkok Airways flight directly to Koh Samui and landed on this charming island in less than three hours. Bangkok Airways' comfortable experience is impressive, with spacious seats and rich meals, adding a lot of pleasure to the journey. As soon as I arrived in Koh Samui, I encountered a beautiful sunset. The airport was like a tropical garden, which instantly created a holiday atmosphere. That night, we went to Sabienglae ​​Restaurant on Lamai Beach. This seaside restaurant was extremely romantic under the twilight, and the authentic Thai cuisine dispelled the fatigue of the journey. On the second day, we first visited the Pandao Big Buddha Temple in the north of Koh Samui. The 12-meter-high golden Buddha statue is solemn and majestic. It is the symbol of faith for local Buddhists and a must-see place for tourists. Then head to the Lad Koh View Point, which is a great place to overlook the beautiful scenery of the Gulf of Thailand and taste the special coconut ice cream. At noon, we had lunch at The Cocoon Cafe, where the forest-style design was paired with large-scale mountain and sea views, and the Thai-style cuisine was intoxicating. That night we stayed at the Amari Resort, which is located in the north of Chaweng Beach. The Thai-style design, beautiful and quiet environment, rich dining options and thoughtful service make people feel like they are in paradise. On the third day, we started our island hopping trip. Rap Island is small and beautiful, with three-color sea water that is breathtakingly beautiful; Dan Island is like a paradise and an excellent place for snorkeling; Maison Island, also known as "Pig Island", has fine sand beaches and cute wild pigs, which is full of fun. After island hopping, enjoy dinner at Coco Tam's Beach Bar. The unbeatable sea view, wonderful performances, delicious dishes and specially made cocktails will make you indulge in the wonderful nightlife. On the fourth day, we checked in at the Guanyu Temple. This largest Guanyu statue in Thailand is majestic and spectacular, with its back to the mountain and facing the sea. The nearby Balancing Rock is a natural wonder, and standing on it you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the east coast of Koh Samui. Savour authentic Thai cuisine and enjoy a quiet and relaxing meal at Thongson Bay Restaurant. In the afternoon, ride in the coconut grove by the sea, cross the coconut grove and the beach, and encounter the beautiful sunset. In the evening, taste the specialty braised pork at Kapi Sator Restaurant, and then go to Fisherman's Village Night Market to experience the lively nightlife of Koh Samui. On the fifth day, we waited at the small and exquisite garden-like Samui Airport and took a Bangkok Airways flight back to Hong Kong. It is worth mentioning that Bangkok Airways passengers can enjoy lounge benefits and pay to experience cost-effective SPA. Now, Bangkok Airways has resumed direct flights from Hong Kong to Koh Samui. If the check-in counter at Guangzhou Pazhou Airport is opened in the future, travel will be more convenient. This trip to Koh Samui made me indulge in its beautiful scenery and customs. Whether it is the charming beaches, mysterious temples, delicious food, or comfortable hotels, I am deeply attached to it and look forward to meeting it again next time.
