Chasing Sakura at Utsubuki Park

The sakura trees around Hagoromoike Pond are especially popular with locals. The pond, traditional-style red bridge and blooming pink cherry blossom flowers create a simply elegant, picturesque scene. What’s more, when the pink petals fall to the surface water, drifting along the pond with the red Carp fish swimming below, it evokes a beautiful sight reminiscent of a painting or film scene! But did you know that Utsubuki Park is also home to a selection of animals? Monkeys, peacocks, pigs, deer and other animals call Utsubuki Park home and can be seen relaxing their days away. During the Spring Festival, paper lanterns are lit up at night, giving a whole different vibe to the cherry blossom surroundings.
