This road starts from Wakaji Shrine, passes through 📍Honen-in Temple, and ends at 📍Ginkakuji Temple. There are more than 500 cherry blossom trees along the way, planted by the painter Mrs. Sekiyuki Hashimoto, and they are called "Sekiyuki Sakura". They bloom on both sides of the road, forming a beautiful tunnel of cherry blossoms, with petals falling on the water, creating a unique scene. Along the way, you can see many grocery and coffee shops, especially the section near Ginkakuji Temple, where business is booming. It was selected into "Japan's Top 100 Roads" as early as 1987 and is known for its combination of humanistic and natural beauty. The whole journey is about 1.8km and is built along the water of Lake Biwa. This was once the place where Kyoto School philosopher Nishida Kitaro and others thought, hence the name "Philosophical Way".
