Ninnaji Temple

One of Kyoto's World Heritage temples It is considered one of the most important temples of Shingon Buddhism founded by the Emperor in 888 It is different from other temples because a member of the imperial family has been the abbot for hundreds of years and hence the temple's other name "Omuro Imperial Palace" When visiting Ninnaji Temple, a highlight not to be missed is the Goten building which was originally the residence of various abbots located in the southwest of the temple What makes it stand out is its architecture which is the same style as the Imperial Palace which is famous for its beauty and elegance There is a connecting path inside that is decorated in a luxurious style The door is an old Japanese sliding door with beautiful paintings painted on it The building is surrounded by a rock garden and a traditional Japanese pond Although we can see the beauty of the building, many parts were destroyed during the war. Later, they were rebuilt in the Edo period. The newly built parts include the main hall, Kannon Hall, the Niomon Front Gate, Chumon Inner Gate, and the Five-Storied Pagoda.
