Big Gates, Chill Vibes, and That Cool Brick Thing

#springitinerary Nanzen-ji is one of those Kyoto spots that just feels super calm and cool at the same time. First thing you’ll notice is the massive wooden gate. it’s huge, super photogenic, and gives you that “yep, I’m definitely in Kyoto” feeling. Walk through and everything just slows down. The temple grounds are spacious and super peaceful, with quiet paths, gardens, and that kind of soft rustling sound from the trees that makes you wanna just chill for a while. And yeah, there’s that random brick aqueduct running through the temple grounds. It looks totally different from everything else but somehow fits? Super fun for photos and just walking around. You don’t really need a plan here, just explore, sit under a tree, maybe listen to the water, and take your time. Even if you’ve seen a bunch of temples already, Nanzen-ji still feels special and super relaxing.
