Ginkakuji Temple

Another name that is widely known is "Kyoto's Silver Pavilion". It is a Zen temple built by Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa which is considered a historical landmark of Kyoto and registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1994 by UNESCO . The name called Silver Pavilion rhymes with the Golden Pavilion or what we also know as "Kinkakuji Temple".
