The Royal Park Kyoto Umekoji

Maintains the elegant style of the Royal Park series. Opened in 2020, it is relatively new and located just one JR station away from Kyoto Station, near Umekoji Park. Adjacent to the hotel is a large green park, along with attractions like the Railway Museum and the Aquarium. On weekends, there’s also a handmade market, making it a great leisure spot for Kyoto residents, full of local life and charm. The hotel features a refined Japanese aesthetic, exuding elegance and sophistication. It offers amenities such as a large public bath, a children’s game area, and numerous capsule toy machines, clearly catering to families with children. Its target audience is well-defined. I stayed in an 8-ping (approximately 26.4 square meters) double room, where you can relax on the sofa or bed while enjoying a view of Kyoto Tower—truly a delightful experience! I booked a Saturday night stay for just NT$2,773, which was quite a bargain. Booking early definitely has its perks. Although I didn’t opt for breakfast this time, I had tried it last year at the Royal Park in Sanjo Kawaramachi. The highlight was the bread provided by Shinshindo Bakery. Kyoto’s Royal Park hotels often collaborate with Shinshindo, offering bakery items, brunch, and afternoon tea. The location is excellent, with a Family Mart and Starbucks right downstairs. It’s a hotel with a refined and elegant vibe. Personally, I think it ranks among the top four-star hotels, and I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.
