Shrines and souvenirs: what motivated your trip

Hello, I am a university student conducting fieldwork at various sites including 1. Fushimi Inari Taisha (Business, Kyoto) 2. Kitano Tenmangu (academic success, Kyoto) 3. Tsuyunaten Shrine ( Love and marriage, Osaka) 4. Kowai shrine (Beauty and femininity, Kyoto) In my research my primary goal is to discover how omamori (charms) and goshuin (seal stamps) are used and purchased from travelers. I am interested in how these sacred objects may be shifting their meaning from spiritual tools to popular souvenirs. Were you familiar with the traditional meaning of omamori or goshuin? 4. How was the design of your omamori, what type of shape, did it have characteristic features on it like Hello Kitty, etc. 5.
