#summerdestinations During my summer vacation, I visited the Monastery of Panagia Pantanassa in Mystras, and it was an incredibly serene and enriching experience. Located near the Byzantine ruins of Mystras in the Peloponnese, this monastery is a hidden gem with stunning architecture and tranquil surroundings. The entrance fee was only €6, which felt like a great value given the beauty and historical significance of the site. ⛪️🌿 The monastery’s frescoes and intricate stonework are absolutely captivating, and the peaceful atmosphere provided a perfect escape from the more touristy spots. The views of the surrounding landscape and the ancient city of Mystras are also spectacular. After exploring the monastery, I took some time to wander through the nearby Mystras archaeological site, which offers fascinating ruins and a glimpse into Byzantine history. The town of Sparta, just a short drive away, is also worth a visit for its local charm and historical sites.
