The secrets of Spiti Valley (India)

I had been planning a trip to Northern India for a long time and many people told me that I should really visit Spiti Valley, so that's what I did! I took a 12-hour bus ride from Delhi to Manali, also called the gateway to the Himalayas. It's an awesome place where any backpacker/traveller can get whatever he likes; shopping, Asian and Western food etc. After spending two days here it was time to continue to Kaza, the capital city of the Spiti Valley. I went to the local bus station (go early in the morning to get front seats!) to get my tickets. It was a long, uncomfortable road trip, over the Kunzum Pass, but every bit of it was worth it! I saw landscapes I had never seen before, breathtaking! And the people, who are mostly Buddhists in this region, are so special and friendly. I made a a lot of local friends and this is a memory which will always stay in my heart. I made side trips in the area around Kaza, including to the Highest Post Office in the world, from where you can send postcards back to your family at home. Fun!
