Baishishan National Geological Park!

🔴The free ticket event has ended! The original price of CNY 135/person has been restored. 📢The west gate is closed in winter, and you can only enter and exit the scenic area through the east gate. The middle route is only open to Feiyun Port, and the lower route is only open to the Nature Corner Cafe. The rest of the scenic area is closed. 🆓Free: During the Lunar New Year of 2025, admission is free for visitors with Hebei Province ID cards; from Feb 13 to Feb 23, 2025, admission is free for visitors with ID cards from the four provinces of Shanxi, Hebei, Henan, and Shandong, as well as Beijing and Tianjin (physical tickets must be obtained at the offline ticket window). 🛣️Transportation/Parking: Round trip by expressway. After arriving at Baishishan, locals will guide tourists to park at their homes for CNY 10/vehicle, regardless of the duration. 🚠Transportation within the Scenic Area: This expense is unavoidable. You must purchase tickets at the ticket office at the foot of the mountain to take the bus or cable car to the trailhead. The bus costs CNY 30/person/trip, and the cable car costs CNY 70/person/trip. The first bus departs at 9:00 am and the last bus departs at 5:00 pm, with departures every hour. The cable car operates from 8:30 am until the scenic area closes. If you miss the bus down the mountain, you can take an electric shuttle bus from Jiucaiyuan to the bus station for CNY 5/person. ⚠️Bus Ride from Hell: Unexpectedly, the most 💀 experience of this trip was the bus ride down the mountain. A 25-minute, 180° drift on the icy, winding mountain road, a true rollercoaster experience! 🌄Hiking Route: East Gate Ticket Office → Xiangyunmen Cable Car (East Gate) → Walk to Jiucaiyuan (Trailhead) →①Upper Route, Foguang Peak Hiking Trail (2,000m above sea level): Green Field → Mantou Rock → Wuxing Platform → Foguang Peak (2,099m above sea level) →②Down to the Middle Route, Shuangxiong Rock Hiking Trail (1,900m above sea level): Tortoise Playing with Clouds → Cesheng Cliff → Momo Rock → Bajie Marries his Wife → Shuangxiong Waterfall → Shuangxiong Town Snack City (dine in the restaurant, bring your own food) → Lover's Rock → Tianyi Youfeng → Shuangxiong Town Glass Plank Road (CNY 10/person) → Take the Lead → Shanmeng Platform → Feiyun Port → Pangu Rock → Red Birch Forest (shady and very cold!) → Qingliang Platform → Taiqing Platform → Shuangxiong Town Snack City (sunny and relatively warm) → Shuangxiong Waterfall → Bajie Marries his Wife → Momo Rock → Cesheng Cliff → Huoran Cliff → Baishi Qingyun → Juxian Platform → Dolphin Out of Water → Cliff Wings (via ferrata) (no time, no energy, no photographer, didn't do it!) → Jiucaiyuan →③Lower Route, Feihuxia Hiking Trail (1,600m above sea level): Small Bridge and Flowing Water → Traces of Entrepreneurs → Jiucaiyuan Cable Car Lower Station → Wangting Platform → Cliffside Corridor → Cloud Walk → Return to Jiucaiyuan → Take the electric shuttle bus to the bus station → Take the bus to the East Gate 🔵Very few people on the lower route. I was alone for a long stretch. The staff at Cloud Walk were very enthusiastic, but unfortunately, I was alone, no one to take pictures for me, and I was worried about missing the bus, so I couldn't experience the high-altitude flying car and other projects. The middle route is the flattest and has the most tourists. 📌Don't expect anything from the restrooms during outdoor trips. There is littering. ⌚Trip Duration: 11 hrs (including driving) 🗓️Date of Visit: Feb 2025 ✅Baishishan is a 5A-rated scenic area with fresh air. The weather was great on the day I went. The winter view is wide open, and compared to the lush summer, it offers a better panoramic view of the mountains.
