📍The only Sam Thahan Gas Station Museum in Lamphun

Not many people know that in Lamphun Province, there is a museum of the Sam Thahan petrol station. According to history, the Sam Thahan petrol station in Lamphun Province was opened in 1960. It was originally called Lamphun Province Commercial Co., Ltd. Later, it was renamed as Prasit Service, which is a distributor of oil from the Fuel Organization of the Ministry of Defense. It is currently the only remaining Sam Thahan petrol station in Thailand. The Lamphun Municipality has therefore taken action to improve the landscape and turn it into a public park and tourist attraction of the province, called the “Suan Khunnatham Saman Samakkhi”. The Harikunchai Club group has also initiated a project to establish the Sam Thahan petrol station museum in 2007 to preserve the Sam Thahan petrol station as a place to study the past community culture of Lamphun Province and the development of fuel in Thailand.
