But the architecture that we see today is Bagan architecture, newly built during the reign of King Inthayongyot, the ruler of Lamphun. Built on a raised platform, there are small pagodas on the upper floor at the corners. The chedi is square with protruding pavilions on all four sides. Above the chedi is a sloping roof supporting a set of bases that are stacked in the shape of a bell. And all 4 directions of the pagoda are the places where the golden standing Buddha is enshrined, which is considered the most important religious object in the temple.
