Linderhof, the only completed castle built by Ludwig II

A castle built near Oberammergau in the southwest of Bavaria, Germany. Of the three castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, it is the only one that was completed. Construction began in 1874 and was completed in 1878. After completion, he spent a long time there. Inside the castle are statues of Louis XIV, Louis XV, Madame de Pompadour, and Marie Antoinette, and Ludwig II is said to have spoken to these people as if they were alive. He admired the French style, and the castle's decorations incorporate many French elements. #Linderhof #Germany #EuropeTrip #TripToGermany #Munich #Let'sGoOverseas

#fallingforfall #wanderingme #ijustwander Lovely Linderhof Palace Though much smaller than the other palaces we were able to visit (I thought it doesn’t have an impressive facade at first), I must say the Linderhof palace is one of my favorites. Inspired by the Versailles palace in France, the gardens are truly beautiful, and inside the palace were opulent and breathtaking features (too bad taking of photos were not allowed). Perhaps because the rooms are quite smaller, the details of the decorations seems to be more pronounced. Hoping to be able to visit again with more time to explore the grounds someday 😊🍂.
