Lisbon’s Alfama in Bloom

Lisbon’s spring sunshine brought out the colors of the city like no other season. We wandered through the narrow, historic lanes of Alfama with jacaranda trees blooming above us. Trams clattered by as we sipped ginginha (cherry liqueur) in a small plaza. Bring good walking shoes—the cobbled streets are steep but worth it.
