Also bring sun protection such as sun-protective clothing, sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen. • Medicine: Prepare medication for altitude sickness, such as Rhodiola, as well as common medicines for colds, fevers, stomach problems, and motion sickness. • Other items: Bring enough cash, as some areas have poor network signals and mobile payments may not be convenient. Also bring a thermos, portable charger, camera, and drone. Transportation • Driving: This is the most convenient way to travel, allowing you to freely arrange your itinerary and enjoy the scenery along the way. Make sure your vehicle is in good condition and have it fully checked before departure. An SUV is recommended. • Chartered car: If you don't want to drive yourself, you can hire a car with a professional driver, which is worry-free but relatively expensive. • Public transport: First, arrive at Litang County, then take a bus or chartered car to Gnee's South Line. However, buses are infrequent, which may limit your itinerary options. Itinerary • D1: Chengdu - Kangding - Xinduqiao. Depart from Chengdu, pass through Kangding, and arrive at Xinduqiao to enjoy the scenery of "Photographer's Paradise". • D2: Xinduqiao - Litang - Gnee Town. Travel to Litang, visit Litang Monastery, and then stay overnight in Gnee Town. • D3: Gnee Town - Xizetong Village - Eye of Gnee - Gnee Town. Visit Xizetong Village, check in at the Eye of Gnee, and enjoy the panoramic view of Mount Gnee. • D4: Gnee Town - Zebar Village - Ge Village - Batang County. Attractions • Tieshang Mountain Pass: At an altitude of 4,770 meters, this is the first iconic viewpoint on Gnee's South Line, overlooking the peaks of Mount Gnee. • Eye of Gnee: Located on the eastern slope of Mount Gnee, this is one of the best viewing spots for photographing the entire mountain and the sunrise. • Xinlenggu Monastery: Built in the middle of Hupi Dam, this grand monastery is the birthplace of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Here, you can experience the rich religious atmosphere. • Reti River Valley: The best viewing spot on the western slope of Mount Gnee, featuring the Heart of Gnee and Fairytale Pasture, with winding rivers and towering snow-capped mountains. • Ge Village: The top-ranked village for Gnee scenery, with flower-filled meadows, wooden houses, pine forests, karst landforms, and snow-capped mountains. Food Recommendations • Tibetan hot pot: Made with yak meat, Tibetan pork, and various mushrooms and vegetables, it is delicious. • Butter tea: With a rich milky and tea aroma, it can alleviate altitude sickness and replenish energy. • Barley wine: A local specialty wine with a mellow taste and low alcohol content. • Yak jerky: Firm and flavorful, it makes a great snack and souvenir.
